this small village in the atacama desert is the perfect starting point to explore the "bright side" of the atacama desert. the rocky foothills of the cordillieres are just situated beside the quiet salar de atacama. you can feel that this mountains have a short history because not like in other mountainous regions of the world, the rocks are still jagged and steep. and there are plenty of geysirs and extinct vulcanos in this area.
